    Hi everyone!

I recently discovered Daniel Lanois' solo stuff. This made me wanted to see how much he contributed to U2/Edge's sound.

I found this particular interview which is very interesting!

    great find, thx for sharing.
lanois is a beast. such a creative mind. larry once commented, that he was the first producer to really focus on the rhythm section. and dont forget, that the famous one-lick apparently came out of lanois' hands first.

This is an article about Grant Avenue Studio, in Hamilton Ontario. It was built by Daniel Lanois and his brother, Bob. It could very well be where Lanois first introduced Edge to the SDD-3000...just speculation.

"The whole band was here. They recorded the band tracks for 'Unforgettable Fire' at Slane Castle (in Ireland), then flew over here. They were here for a while doing vocals, overdubs and mixes." The sophisticated string section for U2's "One Tree Hill" was also recorded at Grant for the landmark 1987 "Joshua Tree" album."
