Amp on or off,under global for ultra?

Hey guys can you give me any insight on amp selection in global what is the purpose for the on and off feature .I ran across this the other day after three years I'm finding that were things , After reading the manual thousands of times it amazes me.my rig is going directly to a presounus 32 ch. board at church it sounded like when I went to on it boosted everything of course so are they simply doing away with the preamp, Give me some insight please
