Hi,
Does anybody perfect (absolute) pitch? What do you think about Edge? does he Perfect Pitch?

The more/longer you play, the better at it you get.

You can get lessons, but if you are tone deaf (like colour blind with music), don't bother. A lot of professional singers have perfect pitch sense.

I had piano lessons as a kid and part of it was musical theory and singing notes, identifying notes and other practical tests. I got up to grade 6 (out of 8) and then gave it up (about the time I discovered beer, girls and other non-piano based music!). Anyway, I can still identify some notes and keys by ear but like anything else, without practice I've lost most of that ability.

I don't believe any of the U2 members were trained musicians, but might have picked up pitch skills from years of playing.

The best way I can put it is like this.

Its like being in a crowded room, you can pick out a familiar voice. But how and why? Answer its something you just learn and pick up.
