takes a bit of time to get used too. they "stick" to your strings a bit.
the sound they get will get you in edge territory fast!
Yep, they do stick until you get used to playing with them (especially true when a brand new pick which is very stiff and not worn at all). You learn to scrape them off the string rather than getting them stuck each time - it just takes practice. But you should notice the improvement in tone right away.
Different people hold the pick at different angles, both in terms of attack against the string, but also rotation wise between your finger and thumb. See what suits you best.

At the beginning is not easy to find the right way to use Herdim picks, but you just have to do more practice.
I love them but I must remember to not use them when I play with my Pink Floyd tribute... ehehe!!!

That`s it. I still have problems holding it. Especially with fast strummings at the high strings like in streets. Sometimes I almost drop it. Yes, I think it needs a lot of practice for mastering herdims :)

I find it easier to hold my Herdims compared to my other pics, because they are so much larger and the proper way to hold them is upside down not the traditional pic way.
I found them sticking to strings in the beginning but over the past few years I've grown accustomed to them. They last, forever ( I change mine every 2 months) , are downright cheap and give me edge tone for less cost than any other piece of equipment.
I only change from herdims to other pics when I perform u2 songs that call for different type of pics. Like in With or Without you I don't use herdims I use a pic with a serrated edge for more attack.

an off topic question. My Herdims became worn too fast. The scrachyness become over in about 2 weeks or less. What you do with old herdims? I heard that The Edge never plays 2 songs with the same pick, he always uses a brand new one. But of course, he can afford that, as also brand new strings for every single day, for every single guitar.
I wish that i could make my herdims last more time, they are very expansive to import from my country (everything is ****$%g expansive in Brazil)
If I play everyday (around 1 hour only due to time constraints), I also find my Herdims are too worn after about 3-4 weeks. I guess if you play more than that, they will wear out quicker. I can still use the worn one and its "ok" but not "great". So I change them every month, meaning that I will be using about 12 picks a year. I am happy spending the $ for 12 picks a year.

Oh my god, i pend like 30 picks a year, at least. With shipping and taxes i pay like 2,50 US$ (4,00 R$ BRL) (here in Brazil the gorvenemt taxes the product price with shippiment cost in 60%!!!! Its very difficult to find herdims in guitar shops ( i never saw) and online stores sell it by 8 R$! Its absurd!

i didn´t know they get worn so fast, but i supossed so. i usually use acrylic picks from a friend of mine that don´t get worn to fast at all! you get great sound with them also, but i don´t know if can advertise about them here ! LOL if i can´t just let me know it´s not my will to get trouble in the forum!

Sounds like you could start a little Brazilian web ebay business buy a 1000 box and make some decent cash whilst subsidising your herdim addiction

Hello,
Interesting thread this one, personally I received my Herdim Picks 2 or 3 weeks ago and
I'm very satisfied with them,
I agree that we have to practice a little (first time : it is really stuck to strings! ..)
I'm still not comfortable enough with them but I progress
cheers

My first Herdim picks arrived!!! :D As Raoni said, it is very expensive to us... I took 20 and I will save them, I'm thinking to use just for record. (be?)
Is not easy to play when strumming, first impressions, sometimes it "sticks" in the strings.
Now I know why Edge hold them with 3 fingers in arppegios ;)
I bought in the Strings and Beyond and they was very plesant.
ps: my pocket camcorder haven't focus.

On the bright side, you do get to live in Brazil. Spare a thought for those of us stuck in cold, wet, grey, raining Europe!
There's a saying in Belfast (where I'm from) - "if you can see the hills, it's going to rain. If you can't see the hills, it's raining." :)

my herdims last very long.
I bought 10 pcs 2 years ago and I only used 5 of them.
they are tick so I had to learn to play softly.
I use them sidewards, not completely upside down.
I hold them with 2 (strumming) or 3 fingers (arpeggio).
the herdim edge worn after few days but I use them in such an angle that they skretch the strings also after months of use.
I also suspect that could be fakes out there, now there are too many herdim sellers. 2 years ago I found only 2 or 3 on both web and ebay....

lol....... we spend hundreds if not thousands of £/euro/$/yen/rand/peso/whatever on guitars, effects, amps etc and at the same time we all know that these crazy blue picks are so fundamental to getting even remotely close to the edges tone.
i gotta say, that if you want to get the best edge sound then you can't get away from the fact that you do need to change both your strings and your herdim pick reasonably frequently. The blue herdims do get worn pretty quick and loose that edge 'scratchiness' pretty quickly imho.

Hello,
well here in Europe i think we can have some good prices if we buy a "box of 100" herdims.
Maybe we can buy it for you in Brazil (Raoninery, Marcelo ..) and then send it by post mail.
I'm quite sure this could cost you about 1$ by herdim pick including shipping
Just let us know

Just thinking, anyone here having trouble getting Herdims? I can get them pretty easily here and don't mind sticking a couple in an envelope and posting next time I buy a batch.
After all, we're all here to help each other, right? Just drop me a message and we can arrange something.

Just got another 10 delivered today from an Ebay seller. Should keep me going for a while. If anyone's really really having trouble getting some or they're just ridiculously expensive wherever you are, I don't mind posting one of them to you. Drop me a PM.
