Hello!

This is a test that i did for the tone of Bad. I used this configuration in the GuitarRig:

187

Using two amplifiers per channel and mixing then after it i got an interesting tone.
Let me know what you think!

Obs.: The volume is low cuz i messed it converting to MP3...

Marcelo, a couple things. Bad has a second delay, but it's not this prominent. It's really just one dotted 8th note delay (the high E should ring out clearly once). Edge has used a second delay around the 550ms range, but it's lower in the mix. Your recording clearly has a double bounce that doesn't work. If you listen to the original, it's clearly just one main repeat. Check out my tutorials for the settings. First start with one dotted 8th note delay until you get the hang of the rhythm. It's a tricky song to master. Then you need a little more grit in the tone. Try increasing the drive on the amp model. Should have a little more of a chunky sound to it.

I hear 2 delays here but i think you have them backwards meaning the main delay is too low in this mix.

Thanks for the reply!
Following the advice from Michael and Mick i did this new version! I also tried to simulate Micks tone using the same knob position as he does in his AC30.

IMHO its getting better!!!

Thank you all!

Very nice AC30 tone ! But careful with the second delay, I think you should get rid of it (or limit it with only one thin repeat).

the mod on the delay is a bit over the top, goes into seasick territory. It's better to have no modulation than too much IMO

I think the raw tone at the beginning of the clip is good - it has more of a gritty sound than your first clip. But when the effects are added, I agree with EWB that the mod is too much and warbles the sound too much... suggest reducing the mod to nothing and slowly increasing it until you get a nice sound. I detect something slightly out with the delays, but can't put my finger on quite what it is as the modulation is muddling it. I think there is still a double bounce in there, although less than the first clip but sounds most obvious on the high E string ring out. Maybe worth starting with just the one delay and getting that sounding right before adding the longer delay.

Assuming 104bpm, the main delay is 433ms, set to repeat about 4 times, but you only hear around 2 repeats due to the strumming pattern. The the second delay is around 548ms but only 1 noticeable repeat (can have more but only 1 should be really noticeable), this delay is much lower in the mix. To my ears, this second delay is really designed to fill out the first part of the riff (when hitting the thicker strings), to give that nice jitter/slapback sound. It shouldn't really be noticeable when striking the high E string. Michael gives some good examples of both delays in isolation in his "Part A2" clip. Worth comparing each of your delays in isolation, to that clip.

Sounding nice though, keep up the good work :)

What about this one, I posted it a week ago, Think the mod is a bit off....When I played it on the guitar it sounded good, but when I hear it back on the computer it sound like it needs some tweaking on the modulation......

Let me know what you think.....
