nice article, it wasn't an easy tour for the guys but probably a good learning moment.
amazing to read that they performed for 20000 people in a 70000 seat stadium... i was at feyenoord stadium in rotterdam for this one and i remember it was easy to get tickets and, i'm not sure, but i think it wasn't even sold out.

i have only seen them in holland but would love to see them in dublin one day, i think it adds to the magic when they're home.
i wouldn't mind seeing them in the states too for the simple reason that i would be in the states, i love to be there.

I have seen them every tour since the joshua tree in '87. Most impressive was zootv and pop for the great show and joshua tree was unbelievable because it was my first concert, ever.
Too bad they do their shows in amsterdam now, horrible stadium.

When I saw the name of the thread, I immediately thought of the Pop opener in Vegas. Pull up some YouTube footage of that show and you will see how dicey it was. I think there were a few songs that they actually had to just stop mid way through and start over, and\or blow out the tune completely. I was at the 4th show (Salt Lake City) and the 6th show (Tempe) and while there weren't any huge train wrecks, it was nowhere near the quality of the last show of the North American tour, 7 months later in Seattle at the Kingdome.
Although those first Pop Mart shows were not an example of U2 at their best, I would say that I it was AWESOME to see "Do You Feel Love" played live. I think they ditched that tune very early in the tour and it never came back. I have wondered if they might revisit it live someday. Mostly just wishful thinking.
