    Stratocaster w/ Fernandes Sustainer Project

    Okay, so after acquiring all the parts I need, I started my sustainer project today. I thought I would post on the Fractal site, only because it's easier to upload images and there aren't the same limitations for file size.

    Here's the link;

    Thanks.

    Little unnerving taking taking a router bit rotating at 12,000 RPM to your Strat. I only paid $100 for the unfinished body...I figured it would be less of a financial hit compared to a finished body, if the router decided to make its own unplanned path!

    One more route for the cover ledge and I'm done with high-speed power tools on it! lol

    Thanks.

    Actually, the trickiest part is making the template. If you check out my pics that I posted on the Fractal forum, you can see how I did it. Once you make the template, practice on some scrap wood.

    It's well worth doing for WOWY alone, not to mention Ultraviolet. There was always something missing playing WOWY with a Strat and it's the Hot Rails, same goes for Ultraviolet.

    If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

    Prices in Canadian Dollars, also include shipping.

    Body: $100
    US Neck/Ultra Bridge & Hardware $700
    Sustainer: $350
    Hot Rails (B&N): $100
    Tele Pickguard (Used to make cover plate): $10
    Pickguard/Knobs/Back Plate $60

    Total: $1,320 CDN or about $1,000 U.S.

    In comparison, the EOB Strat would cost me just over $1,700 CDN. Not a huge difference, but I get a comfortable 9.5" radius neck and Hot Rails and it's custom.
