Nope - it's a reissue (2008, I believe). I owned (for a very brief time) an actual 1976 - long story, but it had a cracked headstock so I sent it back to the seller. The build quality on mine was much better than the "actual" 1976; not even close. Not saying that I wouldn't like to have a 1976 - I very much would - but that particular guitar vs. mine - mine wins. There was also a 1976 at my local guitar center and it was in pretty good shape overall (in terms of knicks and wear) but the pieces (it's a 3-piece body) had begun to separate. Remember, 1976 was in the heart of the "Norlin" years where quality control was their #1 priority. Buying an actual 1976, in my opinion, is pretty risky!
