I hate to sound cheap, but any good delay options cheaper than the hd500?

Looks like you're outnumbered there. Anyway everyone knows you should listen to the American, or maybe that's what gets us in trouble
Don't just look at retail prices, I bought mine used many years ago and saved a lot. I'm sure you save a lot more if you go second hand now. Someone mentioned M9 if you already have an amp or want to use an amp. Or just pick up a DD-20 delay pedal, an Strat dubh, amp and a overdrive pedal. M13 can be a lot of fun and easier to deal with than the more complex HD500, but you still get the same effects (mostly)

Can you run the M13 through a computer or a speaker or headphones or only an amp?
Also, Squier 50's,60's,70's... Big difference? Would all be good?
Boss DD-20 Giga Delay = $239

Electro Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man Delay (New Version) = $414.40

Eventide TimeFactor Dual Digital Delay Pedal = $399

Line 6 DL4 Delay Pedal = $249.99

MXR M169 Carbon Copy Analog Delay = 149.95

TC Electronic Flashback Delay = $169.00

TC Electronic Flashback X4 = $249.95

And some of these can be found on e-Bay and the usual second hand markets for less.
That said, if you are looking for multi-effects, one can find the HD500 and M13's on e-Bay and such for $290 - $400 (used)
I think I'm going to go with the Squier 70's Strat. So with that, an HD500, and headphones/computer/speakers, should I be good to go?
You'll be more than good to go. Excellent choice. The HD500 will blow your mind, lots of downloadable presets here on the forum.
