About TooTone76
- Biography:
- 40-something Mancunian, been playing since I was 15, but lost touch with guitar over last 10 years. I was in a few bands in my teens/early 20's - Rock, Punk. Pop. Alt. I got back into playing about 18 months ago. just as a hobby now. U2 was my first inspiration on my return, but in the past I was full on rock - Led Zep, The Who, Rolling Stones, Black Crowes, AC/DC, RHCP - you get the picture. I still like all that, but Edge's guitar gives me some new inspiration, although I've liked U2 since the 80's.

I was 14 when I got my first guitar, 15 when I got my first "real" electric. It was a Westone Thunder 1A, which had pre-amp, which meant I could plug headphones into my guitar and hear the electric sound. It wasn't designed for this, but I managed to figure out it worked, which was great because I could not afford an amp, so I was a happy kid. The sound by my current experience was crap, but it didn't sound like a nylon strung acoustic and that's all I wanted. It was the sound of an electric

Thinking about it, it's not my place to influence or pursuade people to buy this guitar or that guitar. If other's are like me, then they will know that it's a very personal affair, and that emotional criteria can figure quite highly in any decision making. I've learned through my own mistake's and successes and still do.
So, I thought I'd recount some of things I've learned on a blog instead, and allow other's to come to their own decisions. This is all based on actual experience of 30

Recording is a totally new experience for me. I've been inspired once more by the amount of recorded media I've seen and heard since starting to watch Mike's U2GT, and subsequently joining the group. In fact, I've now come to regard it as a necessity, and wonder how I got by all these years without the ability to record myself and my ideas.
I'd never heard of Reaper until someone on here told me about it - and saved me £300+ on the commercial software I'd been spying down at the

I did it...
I just pulled the trigger on a "pre-owned" Ricky 330/12. I couldn't wait 18 months for a new one, or afford the scandalous premium for a new "in stock - 1 left".
I get it tomorrow.

Although I work in a big world of cyber communications, I'm surprisingly a bit of a stiff when it come's to technological trends. I avoid all new "communication benefits" like the plague, as I see them as the Devil's own handy work to get me to work harder and faster for less . Twitter, Blogs, Facebook, Linked-In, iPhones, iPads. They are just buzz words, that from my perspective, other people drone on about to make them seem or feel more important to others. There. I've said it. But,
